This project involved the renovation & addition to the campus' oldest building, the Founder's Workshop. Care had to be taken to repair the existing damaged structure, while keeping the overall architectural design, both in the original section and in the new expanded workshop & art spaces.
Pico Rivera Library was one of the most challenging library buildings we have designed, including a high roof with with articulating exposed steel beams. The design resulted in a grand center space leading to side rooms housing various study and public rooms. The exterior entry features a solar support structure that became part of the architectural design.
Working closely with The Nassal Company we provided structural consultation for thematic elements throughout the project, including the support structure for Hogwarts Castle, rock-work, signage, the Hogwarts Express & entry columns, as well as miscellaneous elements throughout the park and inside the ride..
